"I wrote this in summer 2021 when the charm of pandemic stay-at-home sourdough routines were starting to wear thin. A moment when I realized that I'd been taking the people I love for granted, I'd gotten in the habit of resenting my friends, and I'd reached the bottom of every family-size bag of ketchup Lays; I looked at myself in the mirror and asked "What's up with you?""

This first single from Coleman's upcoming "Like Losing a Fight EPI"(October 27, 2023) features background vocals by Robin Dann (Bernice, John Southworth) and Felicity Williams (Bahamas, Bernice) and drums by Olivier Fairfield (Andy Shauf, Leif Vollebekk). It's an energetic, contemporary, doo-wop piece inspired by the great 70s singer/songwriters.
